Conformation-dependent binding of diheptanoylphosphatidylcholine by cyclodextrins as revealed by proton nuclear magnetic resonance
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the complex formation of diheptanoylphosphatidylcholine with alpha and gamma-cyclodextrins in deuterium oxide solutions. Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) was used to carry out the analysis. The Varian XL-300 NMR spectrometer was utilized to obtain the NMR spectra. Experimental results indicated that the magnetic nonequivalence of the terminal methyl and intermediate methylene groups induced by cyclodextrin complexation may be correlated with a decrease in mobility and difference in the environment.

Proton NMR study of alpha-cyclodextrin inclusion of short-chain surfactants
Article Abstract:
A proton NMR spectroscopy was used to determine the detailed structures of the alpha-cyclodextrin complexes. It is shown that a long chain surfactant molecule can bind two alpha-cyclodextrin molecules.
