Deducing the density of electronic states at the Fermi level for lithiated carbons using combined electrochemical and electron spin resonance measurements
Article Abstract:
The insight into the Cu-ZnO interaction under different gas conditions by combining the in situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM) results with in situ electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) measurements is investigated. Variations in the energy loss near edge structure (ELNES) intensity at the Cu L3 edge are interpreted as a tensile strain in the Cu nanoclusters induced by the ZnO support and a Cu-Zn alloy formation at the Cu/ZnO interface induced by increasing the reduction potential in the gas phase.

Structural and selection and amorphization of small Ni-Ti bimetallic clusters
Article Abstract:
Classical molecular dynamics simulation is used for structural thermodynamic analysis of Ni-Ti bimetallic clusters. Results demonstrate that Ni-Ti nanoclusters as small as 2-3 are not energetically favorable for common ordered geometrical arrangements such as cuboctahedron, decahedron and icosahedron, though they can be synthesized experimentally. Experimental evidence is obtained by the analysis of biosynthesized nanoparticles using transmission electron microscopy techniques.
