Determination of temperatures within acoustically generated bubbles in aqueous solutions at different ultrasound frequencies
Article Abstract:
Mean acoustic bubble temperatures are measured by applying a methyl radical recombination (MRR) method, at three ultrasound frequencies in aqueous tert-butyl alcohol solution. The effects of sonication time and the solution concentration of tert-butyl alcohol on the temperatures derived from the MRR method is examined as it is a useful diagnostic parameter for sensing the thermal conditions within an active acoustic bubble.

Acoustic emission from cavitating solutions: Implications for the mechanisms of sonochemical reactions
Article Abstract:
The acoustic emission from collapsing cavitation bubbles generated using ultrasound of20 kHz and 515 kHz frequencies in water is measured and correlated with sonoluminescence and hydroxyl radical production to yield information on frequency dependence on sonochemical reactions. A reasonable correlation is found and the results suggest differences in predominant types of cavitation, which is supported by chemical evidence.

Proton transfer between organic acids and bases at the acoustic bubble: Aqueous solution interface
Article Abstract:
The multibubble sonoluminescene emission intensity from aqueous solutions containing simple aliphatic organic acids and bases and mixture of the two types of solutes is examined as a function of pH. Results suggest that proton transfer occurs between acid-base ionic solutes adsorbed, probably as an ion pair complex, at the bubble/solution interface.
