Optimization of plasmonic heating by gold nanospheres and nanoshells
Article Abstract:
An attempt is made to show that the interplay between the gold nanoparticles' absorption cross-sections, volume and surface area have led to there being specific conditions that can maximize particle temperature and surface heat flux. The interactions are essential to properly exploit plasmonic heating in these particles and optical absorption efficiencies are calculated from the formulation of Mie.

Selective optical trapping and deposition of polymer and aromatic molecules from binary mixed solution
Article Abstract:
Size-selective optical trapping and deposition of polymer and aromatic molecules from binary mixed solution is demonstrated. Results of morphological and fluorescence studies indicate that polystyrene molecules are preferentially gathered at the laser focus by optical trapping.
