Dissociation of carbon monoxide on the rhenium(10-10) surface
Article Abstract:
A study on the interaction of carbon monoxide with a Re(10-10) surface 150 and 800 K is presented by means of low-energy electron diffraction (LEED), temperature-programmed thermal desorption, and work function change measurements. The results are discussed in terms of face specifities of CO dissociation, Co binding states, and structures and are compared with previous work on CO interaction/dissociation on related transition-metal surfaces.

Mechanistic photodissociation of CO-ligated neuroglobin and subsequent rebinding processes: a theoretical study
Article Abstract:
The density functional theory (QM) and molecular mechanics (MM) method are used for studying mechanistic photodissociation of CO-ligated neuroglobin (Ngb-CO). The CO dissociation and the His64 binding are shown to be a sequential process and the pentacoordinated heme is confirmed as a transient intermediate in the process.
