Distance measurements using partial donor-donor energy migration within pairs of fluorescent groups in lipid bilayers
Article Abstract:
The fluorescence relaxation was explored for distance measurements within pairwise interacting chemically identical, but photophysically different fluorescent groups using partial donor-donor energy migration. The distances extracted between the fluorescein groups of bis-fluorescein derivatives in lipid vesicles composed 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine and 1,2-dimyristyol-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine.

Nature of the main transition of dipalmitoylphosphocholine bilayers inferred from fluorescence spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
The structural dynamics of the main phase transition of large unilamellar dipalmitoylphosphocholine (DPPC) vesicles were studied using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) with steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy. It indicates the possibility that there is an intermediate phase of strongly fluctuating lattice of fluidlike and gel-like lipids.
