Photoluminescence and Raman scattering from catalytically grown [Zn.sub.x][Cd.sub.1-x]Se alloy nanowires
Article Abstract:
The alloy nanowires of [Zn.sub.x][Cd.sub.1-x]Se with composition x=0,0.2,0.5,0.7 and 1 were successfully synthesized by a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method assisted with laser ablation. The [Zn.sub.x][Cd.sub.1-x]Se nanowires were found to be single crystalline and can serve as important integrated full-color display elements in optical and sensory nanotechnological applications.

Photochemical fine-tuning of luminescent color of cadmium selenide nanoparticles: Fabricating a single-source multicolor luminophore
Article Abstract:
The fine-tuning of photoluminescence color of cadmium selenide (CdSe) nanoparticles by size-selective photoetching technique is reported. The results have shown that the photoluminescence enhanced significantly with the photoetching of CdSe and blue-shifted with a decrease in the wavelength used for the photoetching.
