Electrocatalytic enhancement of methanol oxidation at Pt-WO (sub x) nanophase electrodes and in-situ observation of hydrogen spillover using electrochromism
Article Abstract:
In-situ hydrogen spillover from a catalyst to the substrate during electrocatalytic reaction was observed using electrochromism. A Pt-WO(sub x)nanophase electrode deposited by a sputtering method showed a much more enhanced electrocatalytic activity than Pt itself for methanol oxidation, which was shown to be similar to that of a bulk nanoparticle catalyst electrode.

Structures and energies of coadsorbed CO and H2 on Fe5C2(001), Fe5C2(110), and Fe5C2(110)
Article Abstract:
Density functional theory calculations are carried out on the CO/H2 coadsorption on the (001), (110), and (100) surfaces of Fe5C2 for the understanding of the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) mechanism. The stable surface species changes with the variation of the H2 and CO coverage.
