Electrochemically deposited organic luminescent films: The effects of deposition parameters on morphologies and luminescent efficiency of films
Article Abstract:
The electropolymerization behaviors of an electroactive and luminescent compound TCPC, which is composed of a trifluorene backbone and peripheral carbazole units, as precursor are studied and also the optical properties of resultant electrochemical deposition (ED) films are examined. The results show that the supporting electrolyte and scan rate are the key factors to obtain highly luminescent and smooth films and the ED films obtained under optimized conditions show high fluorescence and smooth surface morphology.

Using electroless deposition for the preparation of micron sized polymer/metal core/shell particles and hollow spheres
Article Abstract:
Several uniform and stable microspheres made by a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) core and various metallic shells (CoNiP, NiFeP, CoFeP) were synthesized by dispersion polymerization of PMMA followed by electroless plating. Various microscopy and spectroscopy techniques were used for characterization and they confirmed the presence of metallic shell around the particles, also thickness of the alloy could be judged and magnetic properties were obtained.

Heterostructures with ZnSe sheaths coating on carbon submicrotubes: Preparation, characterization, and formation mechanism
Article Abstract:
Novel heterostructures of carbon submicrotubes with ZnSe sheaths are synthesized through a polymerization-carbonization-coating process under mild one-pot hydrothermal condition, which uses glucose as both the carbon source and the reductive reagent with ammonia providing an alkaline environment and acting as a soft template. This tubular heterostructures might be an ideal system applied in the fabrication of submicroscaled optoelectronics devices.
