Electronic transition dipole moment directions of reduced anionic flavin in stretched poly(vinyl alcohol) films
Article Abstract:
The IR and UV/vis linear dichroic spectral measurement for the direction of the major electronic transition dipole moments for flavin mononucleotide partially oriented in poly(vinyl alcohol) film is presented. The two lowest energy transition dipole moments for FMNH are found to be nearly parallel for both oxidized and semiquinone flavin.

6MAP, a fluorescent adenine analogue, is a probe of base flipping by DNA photolyase
Article Abstract:
The fluorescent adenine analogue 6MAP (a pteridone) is used for probing the local double helical structure of the cyclobutylpyrimidine dimers (CPD) substrate when bound by photolyase. The results have shown that energy transfer is highly efficient for the 6MAP probe and less so for the 2-aminopurine (2Ap) probe.
