Encapsulation, stabilization, and catalytic properties of flexible metal porphyrin complexes in MCM-41 with minimal electronic perturbation by the environment
Article Abstract:
Ultraviolet-vis studies of meso-Tetrakis(5-trimethylammoniopentyl)porphyrin (TMAP) that was encapsulated in MCM-41 during a hydrothermal synthesis showed that porphyrin molecules remained isolated from each other. The spectral intensities and peak widths of the porphyrin molecules were found to resemble those in dilute porphyrin solutions, displaying little perturbation by the host or by neighboring porphyrin molecules. Catalytic studies showed that the stability of porphyrin displays the largest catalytic activity when there is a low concentration of TMAP molecules.

Electronic structure and bonding in CuMO (sub)2 (M=Al, Ga, Y) delafossite-type oxides: an ab initio study
Article Abstract:
Structural and electronic properties of some delafossite-type ternary oxides have been investigated by means of periodic Hartree-Fock method. Results demonstrate the existence of weak d (super)10-d (super)10 interactions that are important for electrooptical properties of doped delafossites.
