Evidence for an influence of local dipole excitations in thermal desorption
Article Abstract:
Ferroelectric crystalline copolymer films of vinylidene fluoride with trifluoroethylene strongly interact with the dipoles of adsorbed and absorbed water molecules. The electronic structure of the ferroelectric copolymer films of vinylidene fluoride with trifluoroethylene films is locally altered with incident UV radiation suggesting metastable excited states that may involve dipole reorientation

Abnormal temperature dependence of photoemission intensity mediated by thermally driven reorientation of a monomolecular film
Article Abstract:
A monomolecular film is studied to explain the dependency of the photoemission intensities of organic molecular layers on the Debye-Waller temperature behavior. The analysis shows that such behavior is more likely caused by the temperature dependant changes in the molecular orientation though the result is not always positive.
