FRANCE: SYNGENTA CREATES 2 FRENCH SUBSIDIARIES

Syngenta France had to cut 232 jobs, and will move to its new head office at Saint-Cyr l'Ecole in February 2001. The head office of the parent Syngenta company is at Basel. On 25 June 2001, Syngenta installed two specialised French subsidiaries: Syngenta Seeds, which posted EUR 150mn in sales in 2000 with a workforce of 462 people, and Syngenta Agro, which posted a consolidated turnover of EUR 610mn in 2000 with a workforce of 530 people.
