Formation of NaI aggregates on ethanol solution surface
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the formation of NaI aggregates on ethanol solution surface. A multiphoton ionization-mass spectroscopy and the liquid beam approach were used in the experiment. The incomplete solvation on the solution surface produces less dissociation of NaI, since the ion pair of I- and Na+ is less stabilized by the solvent. Results demonstrate the formation of NaI aggregates on the liquid beam surface in the entire NaI concentration range examined.

Photoinduced polymerization of haloaniline studied by liquid beam-multiphoton ionization-mass spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
A time-of-flight spectrometer was used to analyze the ions produced and ejected from the multiphoton ionization of the liquid beam surface of an alcohol solution of p-haloaniline. The spectral features of the ejected ions were found to change significantly when the pulse width of the excitation laser was raised from the femtosecond to the nanosecond range. Results indicated that a stepwise polymerization of p-haloaniline is caused by photoabsorption.

Relaxation processes of molecules on a solution surface studied by the two-color pump-probe ionization technique
Article Abstract:
Liquid beam photoionization mass spectrometry and a two-colour pump-probe method have been used to investigate the relaxation processes of an aniline molecule on and in the close vicinity of the surface of an aniline-propanol solution. Cluster ions were found to develop.
