Functionally relevant electric-field induced perturbations of the prosthetic group of yeast ferrocytochrome c mutants obtained from a vibronic analysis of low-temperature absorption spectra
Article Abstract:
Functionally relevant electric-field induced perturbations of the prosthetic group of yeast ferrocytochrome c mutants Saccharomyces cerevisiae obtained from a vibronic analysis of low-temperature absorption spectra were studied. It was found that all investigated mutations substantially increase the electronic perturbation so that the spectral properties become similar to those of horse heart cytochrome c and this electronic perturbation was also found to correlate nonlinearly with the enthalpy changes associated with the reduction of the heme iron.

Dynamics of various metal-octathylporphyrins in solution studied by resonance Raman and low-temperature optical absorption spectroscopies. Role of the central metal
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the temperature dependence of the Soret band of different metal-octaethylporphyrins dissolved in the glass-forming mixture isopentane/ethyl ether. Resonance Raman and low-temperature optical absorption spectroscopies were utilized in the study. Experimental results indicated that the metal-octaethylporphyrins supported several types of motions. These include high and low-frequency harmonic vibrations and anharmonic motions.

Anharmonic protein motions and heme deformations in myoglobin cyanide probed by absorption and resonance Raman spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
Resonance Raman data have been used to reassess the temperature dependence of the Soret band of ferric MbCN. It was established that the temperature dependence of the Gaussian broadening deviates from the predictions of a harmonic model above a temperature that is a little lower than the glass temperature of the glycerol/water solvent.
