Germany: Akzo Nobel planning further investments
Article Abstract:
Akzo Nobel is planning further investments in Germany. The company has just completed a EUR 8mn modernisation of a production plant in Cologne that makes acrylic paints and water-based wall paints. Germany contributes 8% to the EUR 5.5bn annual turnover of Akzo Nobel's worldwide turnover in paints and varnishes and is thus the third-largest single market after the UK and France. In a reaction to the slump in the German construction sector, Akzo Nobel Deco is making 90 staff in Cologne and Wunstorf redundant.
