High-pressure-induced phase transitions in pentaerythritol: X-ray and Raman studies
Article Abstract:
A study was executed on the high-pressure response of penta erythritol (PE) crystals to 10 GPa in diamond-anvil cells using angle-dispersive synchrotron X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy. It was revealed that the structure of PE becomes unstable at high pressure and the crystal can exist in three different phases in the pressure range up to 10 GPa.

Raman scattering studies of the high-pressure stability of pentaerythritol tetranitrate, C(CH2ONO2)4
Article Abstract:
High-pressure Raman scattering studies are performed on a crystalline energetic material, pentaeryhritol tetranitrate C(CH2ONO2)4 (PETN), an important secondary explosive. The observed changes of the Raman spectra implied that PETN gradually densified and compressed smoothly up to the highest investigated pressures.

Structural features of titanate nanotubes/nanobelts revealed by Raman, X-ray absorption fine structure and electron diffraction characterizations
Article Abstract:
The structural features of the high-purity nanotubes and nanobelts is studied employing X-ray diffraction, Raman, X-ray absorption fine structure, and electron diffraction characterizations. It is concluded that both the nanotubes and nanobelts might be of layered titanate structure.
