Hysteresis and isotherm equations in gas-solid adsorption from maximum entropy production
Article Abstract:
A study of hysteresis and isotherm equations occurring in gas-solid adsorption reactions has been conducted using a variational condition generated from the constraint of maximum irreversible entropy production. The variance between actual and ideal isotherms was introduced as an independent quantity of the adsorption law in low concentration instances. The theoretical procedure derived is considered to be general and is indicative of the possibility of relationships with other agents of hysteresis.
