Investigation of surface interactions in molecular recognition of phosphonate imprinted organosilicates and the role of water
Article Abstract:
A study investigates surface interactions in molecular recognition of phosphate imprinted orgonosilicates and the role of water on the adsorption of phosphonate compounds on template imprinted surfaces. Findings suggest that the interaction of an orgonophosphonate compound with the functionalized silica surfaces is through surrounding water molecules and support the possible templating effect of water during the imprint process.

Discrete breathers for understanding reconstructive mineral processes at low temperatures
Article Abstract:
The possible relation with the existence of intrinsic localized modes, called as discrete breathers, is explored in order to understand reconstructive transformations in layered silicates. The results have shown that, although there are far less breathers than phonons, there are much more above the activation energy, making them good candidates to describe the reconstruction mineral processes at low temperatures.
