Isotope fractionation of water during evaporation without condensation
Article Abstract:
The measurements of isotope fractionation occurring during free molecular evaporation from liquid microjets and show that isotope ratios of evaporating molecules exhibit dramatic differences from equilibrium vapor values, strong variations with the solution deuterium mole fraction and a clear temperature dependence. The results indicate the existence of an energetic barrier to evaporation and the evaporation coefficient of water is less than unity.

Chirped coherent anti-stokes Raman scattering for high spectral resolution spectroscopy and chemically selective imaging
Article Abstract:
A simple multiplex vibrational spectroscopic imaging technique was described based on employing chirped femtosecond pulses in a coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) scheme. Simulated chirped (c-) CARS spectra match the experimental results, quantifying the dependence of high spectral resolution on the properties of chirped pulse.

The electronic structure of the hydrated proton: A comparative x-ray absorption study of aqueous HCl and NaCl solutions
Article Abstract:
A comparative X-ray absorption study of aqueous HCl and NaCl solutions is conducted to reveal the distinct perturbations of the local water molecules by the respective solutes. The analysis shows that the spectral changes affected by HCl addition are minimal as compared to those engendered by NaCl.
