Labeling the defects of single-walled carbon nanotubes using titanium dioxide nanoparticles
Article Abstract:
The defects of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) are labeled with the help of a new method using TiO2 nanoparticles as markers. The results indicated that TiO2 nanoparticles were chemically absorbed at SWNT defect sites via an ester-type linkage between carboxylic acid groups at the defect sites and hydroxyl groups at the surface of the TiO2 nanoparticles.

Ribbon- and boardlike nanostructures of nickel hydroxide: Synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical properties
Article Abstract:
The synthesis, characterizations, and electrochemistry properties of ribbon- and broadlike nanostructures for nickel hydroxide, which crystallize at different phases, are examined. The ribbonlike nanostructures of nickel hydroxide were synthesized by treating amorphous alpha-Ni(OH)(sub 2) with high concentrations of nickel sulfate.

Surfactant-resisted assembly of Fe-containing nanoparticles for site-specific growth of SWNTs on Si surface
Article Abstract:
The site-specific growth of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) on silicon surfaces was studied by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). The results suggested that it is possible to convert the patterned Fe(OH)3 nanoparticles to iron oxide, which served as a catalyst for the site-specific growth of SWNTs.
