Loose complexation of weakly charged microemulsion droplets and a polyelectrolyte
Article Abstract:
The characterization of the interactions between positively charged oil-in-water (O/W) microemulsion spherical droplets in the presence of the polyacid poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) of high molecular weight is studied. In the investigation of the mixed system PAA plus O/W microemulsion droplets, evidence was found that PAA chains and the charged droplets bind through electrostatic and/or hydrogen bonds, while neutral droplets bind only through hydrogen bonds.

On the stability of (highly aggregated) polyelectrolyte complexes containing a charged-block-neutral diblock copolymer
Article Abstract:
The composition of highly aggregated polyelectrolyte complexes (HAPECs) was determined with the help of light scattering and cryogenic transmission electron microscopy. The amounts of neutral-blocks present in these complexes influence their stability.
