Low temperature synthesis of flowerlike ZnO nanostructures by cetyltrimethylammonium bromide-assisted hydrothermal process
Article Abstract:
The preparation of flowerlike ZnO nanostructures, which consisted of swordlike ZnO nanorods, by the cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB)-assisted hydrothermal process at a low temperature (120 degree-Celsius is presented. It is shown that the CTAB can interact with growth units of ZnO nuclei so that swordlike ZnO nanorods are created in those sites, resulting in the formation of the flowerlike ZnO nanostructures.

Synthesis and field emission characteristics of bilayerd ZnO nanorod array prepared by chemical reaction
Article Abstract:
A catalyst and template-free chemical reaction in a dilute solution was used to synthesize uniform, large-scale, and bilayered ZnO nanorod array on silicon substrate. It was found that the second growth induced by the dilute solution was the reason for the decrease of the ZnO nanorod diameter and the formation of ZnO nanorod array.

Straight and thin ZnO nanorods: Hectogram-scale synthesis at low temperature and cathodoluminescence
Article Abstract:
A novel seed-assisted chemical reaction at 95 degree C is employed to synthesize uniform, straight, thin, and single-crystalline ZnO nanorods on a hectogram scale. The molar ratio of ZnO seed and zinc source plays a critical role in the preparation of thin ZnO nanorods.
