Mechanism of UV photoreactivity of alkylsiloxane self-assembled monolayers
Article Abstract:
A molecular level understanding of the photoreactivity of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) is important as the spatial resolution starts to be limited by the size of the resist and the spatial extent of the photochemical reactions in photoresist micropatterining. A number of surface characterization techniques were combined to understand the reactive agents, reactive sites, kinetics, and reaction pathways in the UV photoreactivity of octadecylsiloxane SAMs.

Probing surface short range order and inter-adsorbate interactions through IR vibrational spectroscopy: CO on Cu(100)
Article Abstract:
The study conducted showed that for CO adsorbed on Cu(100), first and second nearest neighbor interactions are repulsive. The surface vibrational spectroscopy can be used to probe local ordering of adsorbates and the nature of inter-adsorbate interactions through dynamical dipole coupling among neighboring adsorbates.

Thermal decomposition of alkylsiloxane self-assembled monolayers in air
Article Abstract:
The thermal decomposition of alkylsiloxane self-assembled monolayers in air was studied using atomic force microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and contact angle analysis. It is found that the monolayer is stable in air up to 200 degree C.
