Modeling of the carbon dioxide solubility in imidazolium-based ionic liquids with the tPC-PSAFT equation of state
Article Abstract:
An equation of state (EoS) is developed to predict the phase behavior of ionic liquid + CO2 systems based on the truncated perturbed chain polar statistical associating fluid theory (tPC-PSAFT) EoS. The ability of the model to describe the carbon dioxide solubility in various 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium-based ionic liquids with different alkyl chain lengths and different anions at pressures and carbon dioxide fractions is demonstrated.

Peracetylated bovine carbonic anhydrase (BCA-Ac(sub 18)) is kinetically more stable than native BCA to sodium dodecyl sulfate
Article Abstract:
A study was carried to investigate the role of electrostatics in the interaction of a protein and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) using native carbonic anhydrase (BCA) and its charged-modified derivative (BCA-Ac(sub 18)) having all the lysine groups acetylated. It was believed that if the derivative differs from the native protein in charge then proteins and their derivatives might behave differently toward SDS.
