Photocontrollable phase separation in two-dimensional molecular films
Article Abstract:
Two-dimensional (2D) molecular films composed of mixtures of an amphiphilic polymer containing an azobenzene (Az) side chain and a nematic liquid crystal molecule, is prepared on both water surface and solid substrate at various molar ratios. The results show the versatility and validity of the 2D system for observation and understanding of the phase separation behavior and its photoresponse.
