Molecular dynamics simulations of GlpF in micelle vs in a bilayer: Conformational dynamics of a membrane protein as a function of environment
Article Abstract:
An alpha-helical membrane protein, GlpF, in octyl glucoside (OG) micelles and in DMPC bilayers is explored to better understand the nature of protein-OG interactions, molecular dynamics simulations. OG is a detergent widely employed in structural and functional studies of membrane proteins.

The flexing/twirling helix: Exploring the flexibility about molecular hinges formed by proline and glycine motifs in transmembrane helics
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on the importance of prolines, glycines in transmembrane alpha-helices from membrane proteins. The results show that the proline produces the greatest perturbation from canonical behavior and introduces anisostropy into the kink-swivel space of the peptide.

Fragmentation of protonated tripeptides: the proline effect revisited
Article Abstract:
The fragmentation of protonated tripeptides under metastable ion conditions and collision-induced conditions are discussed. The position of the proline residue in a tripeptide has a major effect on the type of fragmentation that occurs.
