Molecular orientation of membrane-anchored mucin glycoprotein mimics
Article Abstract:
Studies about mucin mimetics in which the core [alpha]-GalNAc monosaccharides of natural mucins are conjugated to a lipidated polymer backbone and anchored to fluid, solid-supported lipid membranes are presented. The findings show that the mucin mimic molecules lie flat along the membrane, hence rigidity and core glycosylation are insufficient to ensure molecular projection outward from a membrane surface.

Kinetic pathways of phase ordering in lipid raft model systems
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on kinetic pathways of order-order transitions in bilayer lipid mixtures using a time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau (TDGL) approach. Results suggest experiments with synthetic vesicles where the stripelike patterns could be observed.
