Aggregated CdS quantum dots: Host of biomolecular ligands
Article Abstract:
The structural and photophysical properties of aggregated CdS quantum dots (QDs) capped with 2-mercaptoethanol in aqueous medium is studied. The quantum dot aggregate and characterization techniques mentioned have implications in the application of the QD-nanoaggregate as host of small ligand molecules of biological interest.

Surface effects on capped and uncapped nanocrystals
Article Abstract:
An atomistic light-binding theory of the electronic and optical properties of unpassivated CdS nanocrystals and CdS/ZnS core/shell nanocrystals is presented. Capping the CdS dot with ZnS reduces the effect of the surface on the internal electronic states and optical properties.
