Coupling of the orientations of liquid crystals to electrical double layers formed by the dissociation of surface-immobilized salts
Article Abstract:
The experiments were done to study the orientations of thermotropic liquid crystals to be coupled through dipolar interactions to the electric fields with model surfaces presenting sodium carboxylate salts. The results show the dipolar coupling of the orientations of liquid crystals to an electric field formed at a surface through the dissociation of sodium ions into the liquid crystal.

Small angle scattering and zeta potential of liposomes loaded with octa(carboranyl)porphyrazine
Article Abstract:
The physicochemical characterization of liposomes loaded with a newly synthesized carboranyl porphyrazine ([H.sub.2]HECASPz) is presented. The properties of these liposomes are compared with those of the liposomes prepared by the more commonly used extrusion procedure (extruded liposomes (EL)).
