Phase transitions of alkanethiol self-assembled monolayers at an electrified gold surface
Article Abstract:
The effect of temperature on the vibrational spectrum and electrochemical properties of a monolayer of hexadecanethiol adsorbed on Au(111) in an alkaline aqueous solution is examined. The result suggested that the properties of self-assembled monolayers of alkanethiols in contrast with electrolyte solutions change with temperature.

Formation of gold nanoparticles by laser ablation in aqueous solution of surfactant
Article Abstract:
An experiment was done to identify whether gold nanoparticles are produced by laser ablation of a gold metal plate in an aqueous solution of sodium dodecyl sulfate. The results show that the size distribution of the nanoparticles shift to a smaller size with an increase in surfactant concentration.

Laser ablation synthesis of gold nanoparticles in organic solvents
Article Abstract:
Free and functionalized gold nanoparticles are synthesized by laser ablation of a gold metal plate immersed in dimethyl sulfoxide, acetonitrile, and tetrahydrofuran. Functionalized gold nanoparticles are synthesized in a one-step process solubility of the ligands in these solvents.
