Liquid mixtures of xenon with fluorinated species: Xenon + sulfur hexafluoride
Article Abstract:
The vapor-liquid equilibrium of binary mixtures of xenon + S[F.sub.6] was measured at nine temperatures from 235.34 to 295.79 K and pressure up to 6.5 MPa. The mixture critical line is continuous between the critical points of the pure components, hence the system is classified as type 1 phase behavior in the scheme of van Konynenburg and Scott.

Predicting the high-pressure phase equilibria of binary mixtures of perfluoro-n-alkanes + n-alkanes using the SAFT-VR approach
Article Abstract:
Statistical associating fluid theory for potentials of variable attractive range (SAFT-VR) is used in studying high-pressure equilibria in perfluoro-(n)-alkane + (n)-alkane binary mixtures. These compounds undergo large positive deviations from Raoult's Law while the phase behavior changes from type II to type III. The perfluoro-n-alkane and n-alkane molecules are assumed to be attractive spherical segments tangentially bonded together to form chains. The critical lines predicted by SAFT-VR for the mixtures are in close agreement with experimental data.
