Probing enantiospecific interactions between proline and an L-glutathione self-assembled monolayer by modulation excitation ATR-IR spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The interaction of proline with self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of L-glutathione on gold is investigated by a combination of attenuated total reflection (ATR-TR) infrared and modulation excitation spectroscopy (MES). The results state that the observed protonation of adsorbed L-glutathione upon interaction with proline goes along with a structural change of the former seems to play an important role for enantiodiscrimination.

New insight into solid electrolyte interphase with use of a focused ion beam

Article Abstract:

The formation and evolution of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) film on the surface of natural graphite spheres in the electrolyte of 1M LiPF6 in ethylene carbonate (EC) and ethylene dimethyl carbonate (DMC) with focused ion beam (FIB) technology is investigated. The results enrich the knowledge of the SEI film and may be helpful for the design and upgrading of high-performance lithium ion batteries.

Ultrathin epitaxial graphite: 2D electron gas properties and a route toward graphene-based nanoelectronics

Article Abstract:

Ultrathin epitaxial films, which show remarkable 2D electron gas (2DEG) behavior is produced. A demonstration that the high-mobility films can be patterned through conventional lithographic techniques, and the modulation of the film conductance using a top-gate electrode is presented.
