Promotion effects in the oxidation of CO over zeolite-supported Pt nanoparticles
Article Abstract:
Well-defined Pt-nanoparticles with an average diameter of 1nm supported on a series of zeolite Y samples containing different monovalent and divalent cations are used as model systems to investigate the effect of promoter elements in the oxidation of CO in excess oxygen. Time-resolved infrared spectroscopy measurements provided the temperature-programmed desorption of CO from supported Pt-nanoparticles to monitor the electronic changes in the local environment of adsorbed CO.

LamdaO4 upside down: A new molecular structure for supported VO4 catalysts
Article Abstract:
Vanadium oxide supported by gamma-Al2O3 was used to investigate the interface between the catalytically active species and the support oxide. Raman, UV-vis-NIR DRS, ESR, XANES, and EXAFS is applied to determine both the molecular structure of the vanadium oxide present in low loaded vanadium catalyst supported on Al2O3 and the structure of the interface between VO4 and support oxide.

Insights into the preparation of supported catalysts: A spatially resolved Raman and UV-vis spectroscopic study into the drying process of CoMo/gamma-Al2O3 catalyst bodies
Article Abstract:
Spatially resolved Raman and UV-vis-NIR microspectroscopy is used as tools to study the preparation process of supported catalyst bodies. Detailed spectroscopic information on the local coordination geometry of two different metallic species along with their macro-distribution over the catalyst body is obtained.
