Relationships between nonadiabatic bridged intramolecular, electrochemical, and electrical electron-transfer processes

Article Abstract:

The method to determine the correlation between the rate constants for electron transfer in donor-bridge-acceptor and electrode-bridge-acceptor systems and resistances across metal-bridge-electrode and metal-bridge-tip junctions is described. A simple approach to evaluate consistency between the different rate constant and resistance measurements through molecular bridges in various electron-transfer situations is presented.

A comparison between interfacial electron-transfer rate constants at metallic and graphite electrodes

Article Abstract:

The Fermi's golden rule formalism was used to derive the rate constant for interfacial electron transfer from a semimetallic electrode, such as highly ordered pyrolytic graphite (HOPG), to a redox couple in solution. The approach could also be used to provide a framework for understanding electrochemical kinetics measurements for a series of outer-sphere redox systems at highly ordered graphite electrode surfaces.

Reactions of etched, single crystal (111)B-oriented InP to produce functionalized surfaces with low electrical defect densities

Article Abstract:

It has been possible to identify an apparently general synthetic strategy for the functionalization of InP surfaces. The etched InP surfaces produced survey scan XP spectra that were very close to those expected for a 1:1 In/P stoichiometry.
