SOUTH AFRICA: SANS FIBRES PET PLANT BY BUHLER
Article Abstract:
Towards the end of year 2000 Sans Fibres (Pty) Ltd is to bring on stream a new PET facility at its Bellville works. The new facility has a daily capacity of 180 tonnes, while existing ones in South Africa can produce no more than 60 tpd. The facility that will be built by Swiss Uzwil-based Buhler AG will be based on solid-state polycondensation (SSP) and serve mainly the production of PET granulate for drink bottles.

SPAIN: DM 50MN ORDER FOR LURGI
Article Abstract:
Spanish fibre producer Brilen SA awarded an order worth more than DM 50mn to German Lurgi Zimmer AG of Frankfurt and Spanish Lurgi Espanola SA of Madrid. Lurgi Zimmer and Lurgi Espanola are to set up a plant for the production of 84,000 tons of granules for PET bottles per year. The plant, which is to be built in Barbastro, is due to start operation in the first quarter of 2000. Swiss Buhler AG will supply a facility for the equipment of the plant, too.
