Local work function of Pt clusters vacuum-deposited on a TiO2 surface
Article Abstract:
The local work function on Pt-evaporated TiO2 surfaces was measured with nanoscale spatial resolution and electron transfer between individual Pt clusters. The KPFM measurements of the Pt-evaporated TiO2(110) surfaces showed that the work function on the Pt clusters decreases as a function of the area of the cluster-TiO2 interface and vacuum annealing caused further work function perturbation on the clusters.

Origins of cooperative noncovalent host-guest chemistry in mixed valence complexes
Article Abstract:
The description of the electronic effects, due to the noncovalent host-guest interactions between calix [6] arene and a ruthenium dimer, [[[Ru.sub.3] O[(OAc).sub.6](CO)(ppy)].sub.2]-mu-pz where ppy is 4-phenyl pyridine and pz is pyrazine, is given.
