EUROPE: GROWING DEMAND FOR POLYURETHANE COATINGS
Article Abstract:
A study by the market research institute Frost & Sullivan predicts the consumption of polyurethane coatings in Europe to grow from US$ 3.46bn in 1999 to US$ 3.85bn in 2006. The growth of demand will be driven mainly by the automotive industry but also aviation, construction, furniture and domestic appliance industries. Despite concentration among suppliers on the European market, tightening competition from Asian producers will keep prices under pressure.
