Semiconductors' photo electrochemistry: a kinetic and thermodynamic analysis in the light of equilibrium and nonequilibrium models
Article Abstract:
Kinetic and energetic aspects of the photo-induced transfer of charge at the semiconductor-electrolyte interface are analyzed in the light of equilibrium, conventional photoelectrochemical models. The photoelectrochemical model (A) attributable to Gerischer, the irreversible, stochastic model (B) proposed by Williams and Nozik, and the nonequilibrium irreversible model are presented.

Semiconductor photooxidation of pollutants dissolved in water: A kinetic model for distinguishing between direct and indirect interfacial hole transfer. I. Photoelectrochemical experiments with polycrystalline anatase electrodes under current doubling and absence of recombination
Article Abstract:
A kinetic model based on a set of reactions occurring at the illuminated semiconductor/electrolyte junction is developed as a tool for assessing mechanistic aspects of photoelectrochemical oxidation of water-dissolved pollutants. This model helps to distinguish whether direct or indirect interfacial whole transfer to the solute predominates.

Thermodynamic and dynamic interfacial properties of binary carbon dioxide-water systems
Article Abstract:
Elasticity measurements were done using a drop tensiometer to regulate the drop area and measure the interfacial tension between H2O and CO2. The filling of cluster cavities was obtained by means of the hill equation, which permitted the analysts to determine that the filling depended on temperature.
