Separation of transition metal ions in an inhomogeneous magnetic field
Article Abstract:
An investigation is made of the magnetic separation for Fe(Super 2+), Co(Super 2+), Ni(Super 2+), Zn(Super 2+), Ag(Super +) and Cd(Super 2+) in an inhomogeneous field of 410kOe(Super 2) cm(super -1). The results showed that magnetic field had the ability to separate ions in chemical and biological areas.

Why are there so few magnetic ferroelectrics?
Article Abstract:
The fundamental physics behind the scarcity of ferromagnetic ferroelectric coexistence is explored. It is found that, in general, the transition metal d electrons, which are essential for magnetism, reduce the tendency for off-center ferroelectric distortion.

Low-temperature oxidation of nitrided iron surfaces
Article Abstract:
The oxidation, of nitrided iron surfaces by oxygen and water at a low temperature and under vacuum conditions, is explained. The findings indicate that the initial exposure of nitrided iron surface to oxygen gives rise to nitrite and nitrosonium ions.
