Solvent and ligand effects on the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of gold colloids
Article Abstract:
Cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC)-stabilized gold organosol in toluene is prepared by using a two-phase (water-toluene) extraction of AuCl(sub 4)(super -) followed by its sodium borohydride in the presence of the surfactant, CPC. The surfactant-stabilized gold nanoparticles were exploited to examine their optical properties when exposed to various solvent systems and ligands by measuring the changes in the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) spectrum.

Preparation of hollow anatase TiO2 nanospheres via ostward ripening
Article Abstract:
The study reports in this work, a simple 'one pot' approach to prepare hollow anatase TiOs nanospheres via Ostwald ripening under hydrothermal conditions. Inner nanospace and highly organized crystallites in the shell structure and surface regions can be created with a wide range of controlling parameters.
