Study of self-diffusion of monovalent and divalent cations in nafion-117 ion -exchange membrane
Article Abstract:
The self-diffusion coefficients of monovalent (Na(super +), K(super +), Cs(super +), and Ag(super +)) and divalent (Ca((super 2+), Sr(super 2+), Ba(super 2+), and Zn(super 2+)) cations in nafion-117 are measured. It is found that self-diffusion coefficients for monovalent and divalent ions correlate well with the polymer volume fractions.

A study concerning conformations of singly charged polyamino acid ions of different length have been conducted by means of ion mobility methods. Molecular modeling simulations have revealed the spherical structure of these homopolymers.

The effects of H (super +) ions in an equilibrating salt solution on the isotropic exchange kinetics of Cs+, Cu2+, Eu2+ ions in the Nafion-117 membrane. The results of such examination are presented.
