Substitutional nitrogen in nanodiamond and bucky-diamond particles
Article Abstract:
Density functional tight binding simulations examining the configuration, potential energy surface and electronic charge of substitutional nitrogen in nanodiamond and bucky-diamond particles are presented. Results predict that nitrogen is likely to be positioned at the surface of both hydrogenated nanodiamonds and (dehydrogenrated) bucky-diamond, and that the coordinated of the dopants within the particles is dependant upon the surface structure.

Photophysical and photocatalytic properties of [Ca.sub.1-x][Bi.sub.x][V.sub.x][Mo.sub.1-x]O4 solid solutions
Article Abstract:
Solid solutions [Ca.sub.1-x][Bi.sub.x][V.sub.x][Mo.sub.1-x]O4 were found as active photocatalysts for O2 evolution from AgNO3 solution under visible-light irradiation. The photocatalytic activity of the solid solutions was found to be strongly dependent on the composition and the solid solutions crystallized in tetragonal crystal structures, except one of the end compounds, BiVO4, which crystallized in monoclinic structure.
