Low-pressure solubility of carbon dioxide in room-temperature ionic liquids measured with a quartz crystal microbalance
Article Abstract:
The solubility of carbon dioxide in a series of imidazolium based room-temperature ionic liquids is determined using a quartz crystal microbalance. The results from this study demonstrate that a quartz crystal microbalance provides a convenient tool to measure gas solubilities in these nonvolatile liquids in a relatively short time period.

Evolution of intermolecular structure and dynamics in supercritical carbon dioxide with pressure: An ab initio molecular dynamics study
Article Abstract:
Car-Parrinello molecular dynamics simulations are used to characterize the effect of pressure on supercritical carbon dioxide (scC[O.sub.2]). There are no significant changes in the frequencies of intramolecular vibrational modes, but a blue shift is observed in the low-frequency cage rattling mode with increasing pressure.
