TRMC, XPS, and EPR characterizations of polycrystalline TiO2 porphyrin impregnated powders and their catalytic activity for 4-nitrophenol photodegradation in aqueous suspension
Article Abstract:
Characterization of polycrystalline TiO2 bare or phyrin impregnated powders, used as photocatalysts for the degradation of 4-nitophenol (4-NP) in aqueous suspension, was performed by time-resolved microwave (TRMC) conductivity measurements and electronic paramagnetic resonance and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopies. TRMC measurements indicate that the number and lifetime of the photoinduced excess charge carriers increase in the presence of the macrocycles and EPR and XPS spectroscopies support the mechanistic hypotheses based on the photoreactivity experiments.

Influence of adsorbed water on phonon and UV-induced IR absorptions of TiO2 photocatalytic particle films
Article Abstract:
The role of adsorbed water in the photocatalytic processes on TiO2 surfaces is explained using attenuated total reflection infrared (ATR-IR) spectroscopy. Changes in the IR spectra of thin films of Degussa P25 TiO2 photocatalyst is observed in the presence of adsorbed water and under near-UV light.
