Temperature effects in the enantiomeric electro-oxidation of D- and L-glucose on Pt(643)(super S)
Article Abstract:
The interaction between a chiral Pt(643)(super S) electrode and D- and L-glucose was investigated. The enantioselective adsorption of D- and L-glucose on the electrode was found to be temperature-dependent, with a differential in the activation energy for adsorption estimated at 1.4 kJ mol (super -1). This differential translates into a diastereomeric product ratio of 1.8 and a mole percentage of major diastereomeric product of 64%.

On the occurrence of competitive adsorption at the platinum-acetonitrile interface by using surface-enhanced Raman
Article Abstract:
The surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) from the platinum-acetonitrile interface in the presence of iodide, the lithium cation, water, and pyridine was analyzed as a function of applied potential. It was found that the typical Raman band of cyanide species by the dissociation of the solvent acetonitrile upon adsorption onto highly roughened platinum electrode surfaces was detectable for all of the systems.
