The glass transition temperature of polymer melts
Article Abstract:
An analytic theory to estimate the glass transition temperature T(sub g) of polymer melts as a function of the relative rigidities of the chain backbone and high groups, the monomer structure, pressure and polymer mass are described. The elucidation of the molecular origins of T(sub g) in polymer liquids should be useful in designing and processing new synthetic materials and for understanding the dynamics and controlling the preservation of biological substances.

Dual luminescence and excited-state dynamics in Ti(super 2+) doped NaCl
Article Abstract:
Single crystals of Ti(super 2+) doped NaCl are grown with the help of the Bridgeman technique. For the spectroscopic characterization of the title compound high resolution variable temperature absorption, continuous-wave emission, and time-dependent measurements are performed.
