Thermal and ion-induced surface reactions of 1,1-difluoroethylene on Si (111) 7X7 and vitreous SiO2
Article Abstract:
Vibrational electron energy loss spectroscopy and thermal desorption spectrometry were used for examining the thermal and ion-induced reactions of 1,1-difluoroethylene (1,1-C2H2F2 or iso-DFE) on Si (111) 7X7 and vitreous SiO2 surfaces. Study revealed the chemisorption of iso-DFE on the 7X7 surface molecularly with di-sigma-bonding in a [2+2] cycloaddition adstructure similar to that found for ethylene.

A polarizable model for ethylene oxide
Article Abstract:
A series of interaction models for ethylene oxide are developed for use in molecular simulation of the thermal properties of both the gas and liquid phases. The model consists of Lennard-Jones and Coulomb interactions between intermolecular atomic sites plus a scalar polarizability located at the midpoint of the line joining the carbon sites.
