Tungsten oxide monolayer loaded on zirconia: determination of acidity generated on the monolayer
Article Abstract:
The tungsta impregnated on zirconia formed a monolayer and almost completely covered the surface with ca. 4 W nm-2 was clarified by the benzaldehyde-ammonia titration (BAT) method. The water vapor treatment method of ammonia temperature-programmed desorption showed generation of acidity on the monolayer. The calculation of the strength of the acid site was according to the theoretical equation ca. 130 kJ mol-1 in adsorption heat of ammonia which did not correspond to superacidity.

Superacidity and catalytic activity of sulfated zirconia
Article Abstract:
Ammonia temperature-programmed desorption with water vapor treatment and theoretical analysis is used to determine the acidic property of sulfated zirconia. Two types of acid sites are generated, one being Lewis type generated on a submonolayer species of the sulfate covering the surface and the other type of acid site generated by loading excess sulfate possessing a high concentration.

Strong acidity of MFI-type ferrisilicate determined by temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia
Article Abstract:
Research involving applying ammonia temperature-programmed desorption with water vapour treatment to MFI-type ferrisilicate is presented. It was possible to confirm the stoichiometric generation of one acid site by the substitution of one iron atom.
