Ultrasonic investigations of hydrogels containing barium ferrite particles
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to establish a systematic and accurate method for evaluating the sound velocity of polymer gels containing magnetic particles using 2.25- and 10-MHz ultrasoni c waves at 295.5 K. the observed anisotropy in the modulus at these frequencies would be ascribed to the magnetic interaction between magnetic particles in the range of ~100 (mu)m.

DFT study on ferroelectricity of BaTiO3
Article Abstract:
The plane-wave pseudopotential method and the LCAO quantum chemical approach in the framework of density functional theory (DFT) are used to investigate the ferroelectricity of BaTiO3. The DFT calculations show a lattice constant of 3.99 Armstrong and dielectric constant of 5.74 for the cubic BaTiO3.

Synthesis and optical characterization of aluminum nitride nanobelts
Article Abstract:
The synthesization of aluminum nitride nanobelts is studied. The optical characterization indicates that the vibration modes of the AIN nanobelt agrees with the AIN film despite its nanobelt geometry.
